Machine in Motion

Instead of plodding through a limited repertory of programmed moves, Toddler learns to walk with a loose, easy gait. Built by Russ Tedrake of MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the robot combines ideas from bio-mechanics, control theory, and machine learning to push the limits of today’s robotic technology.
